Jean J. Roy, 81, of Dieppe, passed away on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017 at the Moncton Hospital.

Born in St-Pierre-de-Kent, NB, he was the son of the late John and the late Lucie (née: Caissie) Roy.

Mr. Roy was a Master Sergeant and peacekeeper with the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1953 to 1974, where he served overseas; afterward retired from Codiac Transit here in Moncton. Jean enjoyed gardening, reading, puzzles and mostly to spend time with his family. He was a member of Saint-Bernard’s parish.

He is survived by his wife, Viola (née: Collette); two daughters: Ella (Maurice) Caissie of Memramcook and Peggy Roy of Dieppe; one son, Jean-Joseph (Della) of Aylmer, ON; one sister, Yolande (Jim) Dagget of Moncton; one brother, Jean-Marie (Anne-Marie) of Mass; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by four sisters: Loretta, Angela, Irene and Marie and also by one brother, Gerard.

Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, (857-1901) on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm and also on Friday from 9 am until time of service.

A Celebration of the Word will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 25th, 2017 at 10:30 am.

Interment in Chartersville Funeral Home Columbarium, Dieppe.
