Marcel Mercier, 74, of Dieppe, passed away on Monday, October 9th, 2017 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton.
Born in Campbellton, NB, he was the son of the late Edouard and the late Ida (née: Arsenault) Mercier.
Mr. Mercier had worked for the RCAF, in food services, photography and as a commissionaire. He was a member of Saint-Anselme parish.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline (née: Allard); two daughters: Johane Maillet (Gilles) of Fredericton and Julie Mercier Doucette (Denis) of Ottawa, ON; one son, Marc (Lisa) of Greater Lakeburn; one sister, Corinne (late Rick) Putman of Campbellton; two sisters-in-law: Mabel Mercier of Harriston, ON and Jeannine Mercier of Edmundston; four granddaughters: Kelsey, Monica, Vanessa and Marina; one great grandson, Christian; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one sister, Loretta and also by two brothers: Harvey and Jean-Denis.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, (857-1901) on Friday from 7 to 9 pm and also on Saturday from 9 am until time of service.
A Celebration of the Word will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 14th, 2017 at 10 am.
Donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
