Bernard Cormier, 69, of Villa du Repos, Moncton and formerly of Dieppe, passed away on Friday, October 27th, 2017 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton.
Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Yvon and the late Yvonne (née: Cormier) Cormier.
Mr. Cormier retired after 30 years of service at l’Université de Moncton, having worked in administration and the library. He enjoyed music and sports. He was a member of Saint-Anselme parish.
He is survived by his wife, Rose-Irène (née: Bourgeois); two sons: Serge of Dieppe and Roland (Catherine) of Scoudouc; one sister, Annette (Freddy) LeBlanc of Calgary; two brothers: Leonide (Rosa) of Pré-d’En-Haut and Valerie (Aline) of Dieppe; two grandchildren: Véronique and Ryan; several nieces and nephews; as well as the extended Bourgeois family.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, (857-1901) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm and also on Thursday from 9 am until time of service.
A Celebration of the Word will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, November 2nd, 2017 at 10 am.
Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
