It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernard Cormier, 80, on Tuesday, October 16th, 2018, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton.
Born on March 8th, 1938 in Cormier’s Cove, NB, he was the son of the late Damien and the late Alva (née: Landry) Cormier.
Prior to retirement, Bernard had worked for CN. He enjoyed spending time with his family, the outdoors and watching his beloved Montreal Canadiens.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Yvonne (née: Chevarie); his sons: Mario (Nicolle Boucher) and Serge (Angela Savoie); his beloved grandchildren: Emilie, Samuel and Carolie; his brothers: Owen (late Rita) of Waltham, Mass and Damien (Aline) of College Bridge; his sisters: Eveline (late Paul-Emile) LeBlanc and Emma (Cléophas) Gautreau, both of Moncton, Marie (Ralph) Saulnier of Lynn, Mass and Jeannette (late Maurice) Boudreau of Saint-Joseph; his sisters-in-law: Télorise Cormier and Aurella Cormier; as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was predeceased by his brothers: Léo, Alyre (Andréa), Wilfred (Rita), Alonzo and Valérie and also by his sisters: Théosane (Thomas) and Florence (Thomas).
Visitation will be held from Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe (857-1901) on Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and also on Friday from 9:30 am until time of departure.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Sainte-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, on Friday, October 19th, 2018 at 11 am.
Interment in Notre-Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe.
