Maria Melanson, 98, of Villa Providence, Shediac, passed away on Monday, November 18th, 2019 at her residence.
Born in Moncton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Aimé and the late Élise (née: Savoie) LeBlanc.
Mrs. Melanson was a former member of le Choeur des Aboiteaux, C.W.L. and Notre-Dame-de-Lorette (Lakeburn) parish.
She is survived by five daughters: Annette (Donn) Leatherman of Bathurst, Denise Melanson of Indian Island, Louise Melanson (Fred McNeill) of Fredericton, Lucille Melanson (Ralph McFarlane) and Suzanne (George) Irving, both of Moncton; two sons: Paul (Debbie Hopper) of Indian Island and Charles (Kim Ngoc Vu) of Montreal; one sister, Noëlla (late Peter) Lozeau of Shediac; fourteen grandchildren: Daniel, Geneviève, Justin, Katie, Rory, Ryan, Sophia, Lucia, Gabriel, Philippe, Jeffrey, George, Julia and Collin; two great grandchildren: Micah and Theodore, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edgar "Slim" Melanson in 1999 and also by one brother, Alfred LeBlanc.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, (857-1901) on Saturday from 9 am until time of service.
A celebration of the word will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 23rd, 2019 at 11 am.
Interment in Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe.
