Ovila Melanson, 91, of Villa du Repos, Moncton, passed away on Tuesday, March 31st, 2020 at his residence.
Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late William and the late Rosanna (née: LeBlanc) Melanson.
Mr. Melanson worked 31 years at CNR. He enjoyed painting, gardening, playing cards, walking and meeting friends for a coffee at Champlain Place. He shared his barn, Club Saint-Michel, which became an indoor rink for the community in Saint-Anselme.
He is survived by his children: Michel, Yves (Jeanne), Lyne (Randy) and Lisa (Robert); his granddaughter, Véronique; his brothers: Fr. Aurèle and Emery, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents; he was predeceased by his wife, Domitilde "Thilda" (née: Melanson); his brothers and sisters: Edgar, Alfred, Laurie, Gerald, Lina, Guy, Antoine and Adolphe.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, visitation and funeral mass will be held at a later date.
