Karen Thibodeau, 76, of Dieppe, passed away on Wednesday, August 19th, 2020 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton.
Born in Bathurst, NB, she was the daughter of the late Murray and the late Marion (née: Thibodeau) Vickers.
Prior to retirement, she was a former partner and office manager at George’s Plumbing in Dieppe and also a member of the Construction Association. She was a member of the Chocolate River Quilting Guild.
Upon entering the office work field she made her own clothing. While raising four children, she was a dressmaker at home and made many wedding and bridesmaid dresses. During her leisure time, she enjoyed knitting, cross stitch and hand quilting.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard Thibodeau; her children: John "Jack" (Pam) of Edmonton, AB, Kristine (Paul) of Dieppe, Keith of Dieppe and Randy (Tanya) of Moncton; one sister, Hazel (late Don) Marshall of Ottawa; one brother, Doug (Sharon) of Brampton, ON; one sister-in-law, Joanne (late brother, Tom) of Edmonton, AB; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three step-children: Guy, Lise and Stephane (Nicole); seven step-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Tom and also by one step-grandaughter.
Masks are mandatory and social distancing must be respected, visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe (857-1901), on Monday, August 24th, 2020 from 2:30 pm to 4 pm.
A private service by invitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
