With his daughter Monique and grandson Eric at his side, Emile Cormier, of Veteran’s Health Center, Moncton passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at the age of 95.
Born in St.-Paul, NB., he was the son of the late Francois and late Genevieve (nee: Girouard) Cormier.
Emile had resided at the Veteran’s Health Center since 2014. Prior to that he and his wife Hectorine lived in their house on Dover Rd for 48 years.
He enjoyed going to the woods on his four-wheeler and whistling while sitting in their porch.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Hectorine (nee: LeBlanc) Cormier, his four daughters: Gisele Rupert of Dieppe, Louise Cormier of Dorchester, Paulette Cormier (Renée Ruest) and Monique (Leo) Gallant both of Dieppe; his three sons: Leo (Linda) of Moncton, Raymond (Phyllis) of Dartmouth, NS. and Robert of Dieppe; his ten grandchildren: Darryl, Matthieu, Dennis, Lise, Mark, Lisa, Eric, Amélie, William and Albert-Émile; his three great grand-children: Sadie, Dylan and Evan; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents Emile was predeceased by his six sisters: baby Alice, Eva, Evangeline, Marie, Amanda and Alice and seven brothers: Phillipe, Freddie, Francis, Jean-Baptist "John", Amedee, Claude and Henri.
Masks are mandatory and social distancing must be respected.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe (857-1901), on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and. A private funeral service will be held at St. Anselme RC Church on Thursday, March 11, 2021 by invitation only.
Interment at St. Anselme parish Cemetery.
