Leonard J.H. LeBlanc, 94, of Faubourg du Mascaret, Moncton and formerly of Lakeburn, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2021 at his residence.


Born in Lakeburn, NB, he was the son of the late Allain and the late Juliette (nee: LeBlanc) LeBlanc.


Prior to retirement, Leonard was the president and owner of Lakeburn Poultry Farm Ltd, having been a member of the NB chicken marketing board as a chairman and vice-president, also for 35 years at the Moncton Airport working for transport Canada. He received many awards, in 1989 from the chicken marketing board, NB Poultry council and NB Federation of Agriculture in 1983. Having been involved in municipal affairs, he was a community leader, Town Councillor and Deputy Mayor (from 1968-1977) and (from 1983-1986), Chairman of Finance, Greater Moncton Town Planning (1986), Board of Directors for Notre-Dame de Lorette parish (1988), Board of Directors for the Moncton Airport (from 1995-1999), Dieppe Industrial Park (from 1994-1995), Chairman of the Building Complex for the Police Complex (1990). He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus (council # 1310) and a member of Notre-Dame de Lorette parish.


He is survived by one daughter, Muriel (Brian) Murdock of Hamilton, ON; three sons: Guy of Montreal, Roland and Bernard (Denise), both of Dieppe; two sisters: Geraldine (late Raymond) and Eva-Mai (Mike) Gayton, both of Dieppe; four grandchildren: Michelle, Mélanie, Christine and Carole; four great grandchildren, Sophie, Vanessa, Zoë and Xavier; as well as several nieces and nephews.


He was predeceased by his wife Corinne on September 7th, 2021 and also by two brothers, Reginald and Ulysse.


Due to new Covid-19 regulations, proof of vaccination and mask will be mandatory.

Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, (857-1901) on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 2pm to 4pm and from 7pm to 9pm. There will be no visitation on Wednesday morning.                                    

Funeral mass will be held at Sainte-Thérèse-de-l’Enfant-Jésus RC Church, Dieppe, on Wednesday, Septemer 29, 2021 at 11am.

Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe.
