Omer Surette, 89, he resided at Villa du Repos in Moncton (formerly of Dieppe), passed away peacefully, on Monday, November 8, 2021, at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton.
Born in Cocagne, NB, he was the son of the late Ernest and the late Melina Surette (LeBlanc).
Omer will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 67 years, Dianne Surette (Doiron); his daughters: Doris Belliveau (Pierre "Pete") and Joanne Vautour (Robert) both of Dieppe; his son: Terry (Louise) of Moncton; his sisters: Jeannine Jacob (late Francois) of Gatineau, Yvonne Allain (Guy) of Mass, USA; his brothers: Paul (Claudette), Louis (late Lorraine) and Emery (Joan) all of Ontario; his grandchildren: Luc (Cindy), Lise (Dan), Marcel (Hélène-Annie), André (Elizabeth) and Marc (Jenilee); his great grandchildren: Ryden, Cade, Zachary, Rémi, Mélodie, Zavier and Sébastien; also by several nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters: Bernadette and Cecilia; one brother: Laurie.
Omer worked as a foreman at Lane’s bakery for 27 years. He also worked for the school district as a janitor. He was also a member of the Golden Age Club of Dieppe and one of his favourite things to do was bowling.
Due to new Covid-19 regulations, proof of vaccination and mask will be mandatory.
Visitation will be held at Chartersville Funeral Home in Dieppe, on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 9am until 10:40am, followed by the funeral mass at Ste-Thérèse-de-l’Enfants-Jésus RC Church in Dieppe, at 11am.
