Dieppe – Aurèle Melanson, 81, passed away surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, November 19th, 2021, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Saint-Anselme, NB, he was the son of the late Léo and the late Geneva (Melanson) Melanson.
Prior to retirement, Aurèle worked with APEX Industries in Moncton. He was a member of Sainte-Thérèse parish.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Louise (Gaudet); his children: Léo (Lilianne) of Oromocto and Charline (late Terry) Devarennes of Dieppe; his grandchildren: Lise, Sylvie, Mélanie and Mathieu; his great grandchildren: Alexie, Emeric, Emma, Kody and Madelynn; his sisters: Yvonne Landry (late Arthur) of Moncton, Eleanor Blanchard (late Adrien) of Dieppe, Norma LeBlanc of Moncton, Iona Gauvin (Raymond) of Dieppe, Carmel Thibodeau (late Hubert) of Dieppe and Lucie Collette (Jean) of Dieppe; his brothers: Paul (late Helena) of Moncton and Daniel (Rhonda) of Riverview, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Jeannine.
Double proof of vaccination and mask will be mandatory.
No visitation prior to the funeral, a Celebration of Aurèle’s life will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Chapel, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe (857-1901), on Wednesday, November 24th, 2021 at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the CHU-Dumont Foundation "Oncology".
